BAPPOA Annual Student Scholarship​

This Scholarship program was started by the Bay Area Public Pool Operators Association (referred to as BAPPOA). We are an organization of aquatic professionals who meet to discuss, share, inform and benefit from each other’s programs and experiences. BAPPOA is recognized throughout California and the country as a vital leader in aquatic training and education and advocacy.

As a leader in the field, BAPPOA is pleased to offer part-time Aquatics staff the opportunity of additional educational funding for post high school education. We will provide scholarships of $500 to be awarded to two individuals who have served the community by working in the aquatics field as a lifeguard and/or swim instructor, and who will be seeking a college education and best exemplify aquatic service, educational performance and overall financial need. This scholarship is awarded annually; and all interested applicants must apply on an annual basis.

In order to qualify, applicant must:

 

• Be currently enrolled in a college, or be a senior in high school who is planning to attend college in the fall

• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, or higher

• instructor

• Have current certification and be currently working as a lifeguard and/or swim instructor

 

Application packet must include:

• Completed Application Form

• Answers to Supplemental Questions

• Copies of all Current Certifications (i.e., Lifeguarding, CPR, and/or WSI)

• Copy of Current Transcripts
